The Journey Behind the Pairings

Our tasting events began with a simple conversation between two friends in San Francisco, Sandy and Jackie. Sitting around a table with wine, cheese and chocolate, they were curious. ​Why does one pairing sing while another falls flat? How can a single sip or bite completely transform everything?

​

So curiosity turned into study. They trained in wine, cheese, chocolate and the art of food pairing, learning the science, the craft and the subtle magic behind flavour combinations. What started as shared tasting nights soon became a business called Cocoa & Vine, where they invited others to experience the joy of thoughtful pairings. Their popup tasting sessions gained popularity and before long there was interest in their events from wine bars, clubs, private party organisers, and the corporate world for team-building sessions.

Then life brought Sandy home to Australia.

And with it came a new chapter.

Lux and Vine was born from the same passion - but with a fresh focus on the incredible produce right here in Australia. From bold regional wines to handcrafted cheeses and small-batch chocolates, there’s something uniquely special about the flavours and production methods found across this country.

At its heart, Lux & Vine isn’t about indulgence. It’s about connection. It’s about that moment when someone takes a sip, a bite… and their eyes light up. It’s about laughter around the table, discovering something new, and leaving inspired to create your own pairings at home.

Because when you gather great wine, delicious food and warm company together, good times just follow.
